Quick Turf Time for 6 at BAMA

Six BAMA Recruits expected to contribute this year The 2014 recruiting class could be the best in Coach Saban’s tenure at The Capstone, with verbal commitments from five 5-Star recruits and thirteen 4-Star.  Alabama should finish number one in recruiting for the fourth consecutive year finishing in the top five nationally every year since Saban’s first Bama class, 2008.  I’ve referred to this class on Twitter calling it Christmas with St. Nick delivering the presents in the form of top recruits to Alabama.  We’re all excited to see what the new guys can do, but how long will we

Is ESPN The Destruction of The Paul Finebaum Show?

Is ESPN the Destruction of The Paul Finebaum Show? Why Paul should move back to Birmingham, AL When you think of Paul Finebaum what words come to your mind?  For me they are, controversy, great interviews and funny callers.  Finebaum’s callers are known for shouting, crudeness, and delusional loyalty to their teams, as well as extreme knowledge of college football.  They are mostly cheering on Alabama and Auburn with the remaining SEC schools also well represented on the show.  Paul has described the show as a soap opera that people want to tune back in to hear what happens

Gus Malzahn Lives Bryant Prophecy…..Auburn’s Run for the Championship

Turning a program around in the SEC…..No small task.  Turning a program completely around to the point of beating your state rival (the undefeated defending National Champions, Alabama Crimson Tide,) winning the SEC Championship in the GA Dome defeating Mizzou, and playing against FSU for a National Championship in your first year…..well even Bryant himself did not accomplish that in his first season at Alabama.  But then, that’s the Malzahn way. Go! Go! Go! Go! Auburns’ miserable 2012 season where they went 3-9, not winning one conference game was a low point for the Auburn football program the likes we haven’t seen since

(Listed on Rivals.com)  Is this important? In recent years, recruiting has become a year-round endeavor.  Just ask Dan Mullen, head football coach at MS State who said to the AJC last summer, “Currently, we have eight weeks

Alabama Civil Rights: Could Alabama Hire a Black Head Coach?

Alabama Civil Rights How Far Have We Come in Alabama? Could Alabama Hire a Black Head Coach without it being a Story? As we reflect on the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr today, the question came to me, could The University of Alabama ever hire a black head coach without the man’s race being part of the story?  What is the state of Alabama Civil Rights regarding Alabama football? The Historical Hire in 2003 In 2003, a historical hire nearly took place at The University of Alabama. Looking for a replacement for Mike Price, Alabama seriously considered hiring the running
