Noteworthy

Georgia at South Carolina

In the only SEC Matchup of the week number 24 South Carolina defeats number 6 Georgia in a rainy shootout in Columbia, SC after a long weather delay.

Alabama

Alabama looked flat against a lesser opponent in Southern Miss Golden Eagles.  The visitors moved the ball too easily and Bama’s defense did not shine.  The quarterback “contest” may be over since Blake Sims looked very good and Coker did not.  Coker, who didn’t come in until late in the third quarter got sacked on third down, Alabama had to settle for a field goal and Coker never returned.  The following series the third string QB did get Bama to the end zone.  Alabama starting safety Nick Perry was flagged for targeting and will not play in the first half of the Florida game this week.

Kentucky at Florida

Kentucky nearly upset the Florida Gators.  Tied 20 all went into the first overtime in which the teams exchanged touchdowns, a second overtime they exchanged field goals and finally in the third overtime, the Gators scored the winning touchdown.

Arkansas at Texas Tech

Arkansas pulled their weight keeping the SEC on top in an impressive win against a Texas Tech Team considered to be in the upper half of their Conference, the Big 12.  Arkansas took an early lead in the first quarter and kept that one touchdown lead til the fourth quarter when they pulled away outscoring the Red Raiders 14 to zero.
